According to Lt. Col. Nazmul Hasan, the commander of BGB-6 Battalion, the arrest occurred after a tip-off about a suspected smuggling operation. Acting on the information, a BGB team set up an interception point on the Chuadanga-Jhenaidah highway at around 1:30 p.m. The operation targeted a bus belonging to the ‘Purbasha Paribahan’ transport service, which was traveling through the area. Upon searching the bus, the team found the two suspects in possession of the 18 gold bars, which were concealed in their luggage.
