New Delhi Customs officials arrested two passengers at Indira Gandhi International Airport for allegedly attempting to smuggle 816 grams of 24-carat gold into India.
The two individuals arrived from Dubai on Friday and were caught trying to conceal the gold in the form of two bracelets.
According to a post on ‘X’ by Delhi Customs (Airport & General), the arrests were made based on intelligence reports. “On October 11, 2024, two passengers traveling from Dubai were arrested for trying to smuggle 24-carat gold as two kadas weighing 816 grams. Further investigation is ongoing,” the department stated.
