Mt Malcolm Mines has successfully produced its inaugural gold doré bars from bulk sampling at the Golden Crown site, utilizing gravity processing techniques. This milestone bolsters the company’s confidence in the economic potential of the prospect.
The bulk sampling, conducted at a nearby gravity processing facility, has revealed visible gold in rock chip samples. Out of 30 samples collected, 11 returned assays exceeding 5g/t gold, with a peak result of 458.39g/t.
Managing Director Trevor Dixon expressed excitement over this achievement, stating, “The inaugural gold doré bar is a significant milestone in our gravity processing at Golden Crown. These promising results enhance our confidence in the prospect’s economic potential.”
The ongoing bulk sampling aims to test up to 8,000 tons of ore within a well-defined mineralized corridor measuring 50 meters long and 15 meters wide. Golden Crown is located within the Malcolm Dam prospect area, a historical gold producer that previously yielded over 1,720 ounces at an average grade of 29g/t gold, despite limited exploration.
Currently, excavation has reached a depth of approximately 9 meters, with efforts continuing to extract deeper, higher-grade mineralized material. Mt Malcolm Mines has submitted head grade and tailings samples from the first 167-ton parcel to Intertek for fire assay analysis, with results anticipated within a month. The head grade assays will help determine gold recovery percentages, while the tailings assays will assess the prospect’s economic potential.
Additionally, two more batches totaling 78 tons are undergoing processing as bulk sampling continues.
