Prodigy Gold has announced impressive gold grading results from its Hyperion project in the Northern Territory, with notable intercepts of up to 10 meters at 15.9 g/t gold. The Hyperion site is located in a promising but underexplored region between the 1.1 million-ounce Groundrush gold deposit and the 94,000-ounce Crusade gold deposit, part of the neighboring Central Tanami project operated by Northern Star Resources and Tanami Gold.
Two additional holes drilled for metallurgical testwork also showed promising results, including 99 meters at 2.7 g/t from 33 meters (Hyperion Lode – HYRC24005) and 53 meters at 2.9 g/t from 49 meters (Tethys Lode – HYRC24009). Drilling at other prospects, including Brokenwood, Pandora, and Tregony North, has been completed, and the company is awaiting further results.
Most of the new findings exceed the estimated grade of the recently released Hyperion resource, which stands at 8.64 million tons at 1.5 g/t gold, equating to 407,000 ounces at a reporting cut-off of 0.6 g/t. Mark Edwards, managing director of Prodigy Gold (AX
), emphasized the significance of these results for updating the resource estimate.
Edwards noted that these results align with the company’s strategy to focus on the Tanami North project and expand its mineral resource inventory through organic growth. The new data will enhance the understanding of mineral recovery characteristics and assist in updating the Hyperion resource estimate.
With drilling for the current field season now complete, these results will inform future drilling plans for 2025, particularly near hole HYRC24004, which showed mineralization of 10 meters at approximately 15.9 g/t gold. Edwards expressed confidence in the overall potential of the Hyperion deposit and surrounding areas.
