The price of 24-carat gold saw a slight drop of Rs 10 in early trading on Monday, with ten grams priced at Rs 79,630, according to data from the GoodReturns website. Silver also experienced a decline, falling by Rs 100, bringing the price of one kilogram to Rs 93,400.
In addition, 22-carat gold witnessed a Rs 10 decrease, with ten grams now available at Rs 72,990.
Gold prices in major cities such as Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad remained consistent, with ten grams of 24-carat gold priced at Rs 79,630. In Delhi, the price for the same amount of 24-carat gold stood slightly higher at Rs 79,790.
The price of 22-carat gold mirrored trends in cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, where ten grams is priced at Rs 72,990. In Delhi, the rate for 22-carat gold was Rs 73,140.
For silver, one kilogram was priced similarly across Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata at Rs 93,400, while in Chennai, the price was notably higher at Rs 1,00,900.
On the global market, U.S. gold prices remained stable on Monday, influenced by mixed signals from the market. While uncertainty surrounding the policies of the incoming Trump administration fueled safe-haven demand, a robust U.S. employment report provided some support to the Federal Reserve’s cautious stance on future rate cuts. Spot gold held steady at $2,690.49 per ounce, maintaining levels near a high reached in mid-December.
Meanwhile, spot silver traded flat at $30.38 per ounce. Platinum prices saw a minor dip, down 0.2 percent to $962.73, while palladium increased by 0.1 percent, reaching $949.12.
