Gold prices saw a slight decline in early trade on Saturday, with the price of 24-carat gold falling by Rs 10. The precious metal was priced at Rs 86,500 for ten grams, according to the GoodReturns website. Similarly, silver also witnessed a drop, with the price of one kilogram falling by Rs 100 to Rs 99,400.
The cost of 22-carat gold also dipped by Rs 10, with ten grams of the metal priced at Rs 79,290.
Prices for gold remained consistent across major cities. In Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad, ten grams of 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 86,500. However, in Delhi, the price for the same amount of 24-carat gold stood slightly higher at Rs 86,650.
For 22-carat gold, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad saw prices of Rs 79,290 for ten grams, while Delhi saw a marginal increase with the price set at Rs 79,440 for ten grams.
Silver prices also varied across regions. In Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Mumbai, one kilogram of silver was priced at Rs 99,400, while in Chennai, the price for the same amount of silver stood at Rs 1,06,900.
In the global market, US gold prices remained near record highs due to investor concerns over US President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canada, China, and Mexico, which are feared to stoke inflation and slow economic growth. By 0052 GMT on Tuesday, spot gold had edged up 0.1% to $2,816.64 per ounce, following a record high of $2,830.49 in the previous session. Meanwhile, US gold futures fell 0.3% to $2,849.60.
Spot silver dropped 0.1% to $31.52 per ounce, while platinum rose 0.2% to $965.90, and palladium gained 0.4% to $1,013.67 per ounce.
