Gibb River Diamonds Limited (GIB) has announced the submission of a Mining Proposal for the Edjudina Gold Project to the Western Australian Department of Mines, Industry Regulation, and Safety (DEMIRS). The proposal specifically seeks permission to mine the Neta Prospect, a key component of the Edjudina Gold Project, located on the granted mining lease M31/495.
The Neta Prospect hosts an Indicated and Inferred JORC resource of 378,000 tonnes at 1.9 g/t gold, totaling 24,000 ounces of gold. This includes an Indicated Resource of 110,000 tonnes at 2.2 g/t gold for 8,000 ounces. GIB aims to begin mining or monetizing this resource as soon as possible. The submission of the Mining Proposal represents a significant step toward achieving this goal.
Upon approval, the Mining Proposal will allow for a mine and haul operation at the Neta Gold Prospect, utilizing toll treatment services at a third-party mill, pending commercial agreements. This initiative is currently GIB’s top priority.
The company is in discussions with the WTAC Native Title group to schedule a heritage survey at the Edjudina Project, which is expected to take place in April 2025. This survey will support both mining operations at the Neta Prospect and the drilling of new exploration targets on the Company’s recently acquired and highly prospective M31/481 mining lease, adjacent to the Neta mining area.
Ongoing discussions are also taking place with several West Australian groups specializing in mine, haul, and toll milling operations.
It should be noted that GIB anticipates additional permitting requirements will arise once mining operations commence. However, the Company does not plan to report minor or routine permitting applications to the ASX unless deemed material to the project’s progress.
