In the bond market, US yields displayed a diverse trend. The shorter-term 2-year yield showed a rise of 3.6 basis points, reaching 5.074%. In contrast, longer-term yields witnessed a decline, with the 10-year and 30-year yields falling to 4.868% (-0.8 basis points) and 5.016% (-1.7 basis points), respectively.
Shifting to other markets, crude oil prices experienced a marginal increase, edging up by $0.12 to reach $82.40 per barrel, while gold maintained its stability at $1,995.70 per ounce. Silver prices saw a decrease of $0.28, settling at $23 per ounce, and Bitcoin registered a slight dip, reaching $34,003.
Market observers are looking ahead to the release of the Conference Board’s consumer confidence index for October. The index is anticipated to stand at 100.0, marking a decline from last month’s figure of 103.0 and August’s reading of 108.7.
