The price of 24-carat gold held steady during early trade on Wednesday, with ten grams of the precious metal maintaining its value at Rs 62,620. Meanwhile, silver prices experienced a decline of Rs 500, with one kilogram of the precious metal selling at Rs 75,500.
The rate for 22-carat gold remained unchanged as well, with the yellow metal priced at Rs 57,400. In Mumbai, the price for ten grams of 24-carat gold matched those in Kolkata and Hyderabad at Rs 62,620. In Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, the rates stood at Rs 62,770, Rs 62,620, and Rs 63,220, respectively.
For ten grams of 22-carat gold, Mumbai’s price aligned with those in Kolkata and Hyderabad, holding at Rs 57,400. Meanwhile, in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, the prices were reported as Rs 57,550, Rs 57,400, and Rs 57,950, respectively.
In the international market, US gold prices maintained stability above the crucial $2,000 level, supported by expectations of interest rate cuts from the Federal Reserve in the coming year. Spot gold recorded minimal changes at $2,038.49 per ounce, while US gold futures remained unchanged at $2,051.60.
Spot silver experienced a modest 0.2% rise, reaching $24.06 per ounce. Platinum faced a 0.3% decline, settling at $951.46, while palladium remained steady at $1,224.60.
In the Indian cities of Delhi and Mumbai, one kilogram of silver is currently trading at Rs 77,500, while in Chennai, it is priced slightly higher at Rs 79,500.
